Outpatient Pharmacy, General Surgery, Orthopedic Clinics move to transition building

FORT POLK, La. (Fort Polk Press Release) - Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital’s air handler’s replacement project is starting in early December. The $18M renovation project will upgrade the heat and air conditioning in the 34-year-old building.

BJACH’s General Surgery and Orthopedic Clinics will close at noon Nov. 29 and reopen in their new location in the transition building, located outside Entrance A, on Dec. 4.

The Outpatient Pharmacy will be closed Dec 1-4 for their move to the transition building.

Beneficiaries using ScriptCenter for their refill pick-up point must call in refills by Nov. 28 to be able to pick them up during the closure. Refills called in after the deadline will not be available until Dec. 5.

No prescriptions or refills will be available during the closure.
Administrative offices for Preventive Medicine and Laboratory Administration will also be relocating to the transition building. Respiratory Therapy and EKG are also moving to the transition building. Pediatrics will remain inside BJACH on the second floor, but will move across the hall.

Parking will be available in the lower level parking lot for beneficiaries. Handicapped parking places will be marked and the building is handicapped accessible. Wheelchairs will be available in the transition building. A covered walkway has been installed from Entrance A to the transition building main entrance.
