Multiple Pineville DOTD projects are moving along. Pineville's City Council met on Tuesday to accept improvements DOTD will be making.

Those projects are the roundabout at Susek Drive and Edgewood, and the removal of the US 165 KCS Railway overpass. It is by Greenwood memorial park cemetery.

These items were just procedural moves to get ready for construction that the council thinks will take place sometime next summer.

You may remember DOTD held community informational meetings about the roundabout last August. It is being constructed in front of Pineville Junior High School and Saint Micheal Episcopal Church.

However, the overpass removal is something Pineville's Chief of Staff Rich Dupree said has been in the works for 20 years.

"Both of those are due for bidding early next year, with projects starting hopefully next summer," Dupree said. "But, once the projects are complete then we will accept sidewalk improvements. They will become a part of what we maintain after DOTD constructs them."

Dupree said the meeting was just another step in the overall process for both projects.
