Pineville hosts 'Main Street Meet and Greet' event

PINEVILLE, La. (KALB) - The Pineville Downtown Development District and City hosted "Main Street Meet and Greet" Thursday evening, giving residents a chance to ask questions and express concerns regarding the development of the city.

Discussions ranged from cleaning up the Main Street Community Center sign, problems with homelessness, bringing more activities to the city and more.

Doug Gann with the City of Pineville said events like this is the first step to improving the future of Pineville.

"It's just been a process of what we can do, and so we decided, you know what, now it's time to get everybody together and let's brainstorm,” Gann explained. “Because out of these ideas, it may be things that we have never thought of, also it may bring folks together, so we said you know what we've got to do this.”

Gann also wanted to remind everyone that a BBQ Bash will be held Saturday, August 31 at Buhlow Lake from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

All proceeds from the event will go towards bettering the city.

The City of Pineville partnered with the Exchange Club of Central Louisiana for the first Buhlow BBQ Bash.

The event will have live music, a BBQ Cook-off, Food, and Art vendors.
