PINEVILLE, La. (KALB) - The weather didn't rain on the City of Pineville's parade on Saturday. The community held their second '5th Saturday Market' on Main Street.
It's hosted by the City of Pineville and the Downtown Development District.
Every year there's four months that fall with five Saturdays. March was their first celebration.
It's a fun way for residents to hangout downtown, right next to the Pineville Community Center. The free event includes lots of food trucks, and music.
They also had a special guest stop by. Pineville High School star and Buffalo Bills Offensive Lineman Cody Ford signed autographs for his hometown.
"The atmosphere, the love, the happiness, everything about Pineville as a whole is what I carry with me everyday," Ford said. "I brought it to Oklahoma, I'm bringing it to Buffalo. I really wouldn't call these people fans, they are all friends to me."
The next 5th Saturday celebration lands on August 31.
"We were just trying to work with our Downtown Development District to get more people back downtown," said Pineville City Manager Rich Dupree. "So, you got music, you got food, you got a celebrity like Cody Ford to come out and it just creates a nice environment downtown."
