Pineville may get its first microbrewery soon
The City of Pineville may soon get its first microbrewery.
Pineville City Council members discussed a current ordinance at their Tuesday evening meeting that would allow a microbrewery to open in the city. Pineville Chief of Staff, Rich Dupree, says that some language in Ordinance No. 1562-2019 needs to be changed first before any further steps can be taken.
However, other steps have already been taken when it comes to the location of the establishment. Some local residents recently voiced their interest in opening the brewery and have signed a lease for an open spot in the Trotter Center, located right off Military Highway. They’re calling the brewery “Fighting Hand” and signs are already displayed in windows at the location.
This comes nearly a year after the City of Pineville began issuing permits for the sale of alcohol in city limits.
The Pineville City Council will discuss the Ordinance more at their March meeting.
