Pollock man drives into tree; arrested on drug charges


GRANT PARISH, La. (GPSO) - A Pollock man was arrested after driving into a tree in Grant Parish.

Grant Parish Sheriff’s Corporal Zac Daenen noticed a vehicle without a license plate that he had encountered the day before with a license plate not registered to the vehicle.

When Cpl. Daenen attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver accelerated and drove into a tree. The driver then ran from the vehicle and threw a glass smoking pipe and methamphetamine in an attempt to hide the evidence.

Michael Reed, Jr., 21, of Pollock, was arrested for possession of C.D.S. II (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting an officer, and obstruction of justice.
