The school board search committee started advertising for their highest position on May 8, and set deadlines for the process on Tuesday night.
All applications are due June 6. If they have less than 10 applicants, the search will be extended to June 27. At that point, they would appoint an interim.
However, if they do have enough, applicant names will be announced to the public on June 11. Superintendent Nason Authement and the board will review applicants.
First round interviews will be conducted on June 17. Finalists will be selected June 20 and interviewed on the 25th. On June 27 finalists will address the full board and then they will choose the new superintendent.
Committee Chair Darrell Rodriguez said it's a tight deadline.
"We are going to narrow them down to 10, and then we are going to narrow them down to our three finalists," Rodriguez said. "Then we are going to have our forum here at the media center. We are going to ask all the public to come out, and our stakeholders."
Employees and community members will have a chance to question the three final candidates in a public forum at the media center on June 24.
