Rapides Parish School Board holds Leadership Academy
The Rapides Parish School Board understands the importance of strong leadership in our schools, that's why the board is hosting a Leadership Academy, right here at home.
Assistant Superintendent, Jon Garrett, said there are about 50 administrators in the academy, and about 50 who are hoping to one day become administrators.
The group met for the second time Thursday morning for a four-hour session.
“We really just wanted to make sure that we had quality people that are going to be stepping into leadership positions,” Garrett explained. “Some of them already are, they're in assistant principal positions or lead teacher positions, but we wanted to make sure when principal positions came open that they were ready.”
The group will meet a total of five times and will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the academy.
