The Rapides Parish Registrar of Voters is investigating complaints of “problems” for some voters during the April 28 election, specifically, the vote for the Gravity Drainage Dist. 2 millage.

The Registrar of Voters didn’t release what precinct or precincts that were possibly impacted. Lin Stewart with the Registrar of Voters said there were complaints that some voters were “unable to vote” on the millage.

“The Registrar of Voters Office and the Secretary of State’s Office are working diligently to review this matter," Steward said. "The voters eligible to vote in the proposed Gravity Drainage District 2 can be assured that this matter is being taken seriously by all entities involved."

There’s no word on when the investigation will be completed.

The newly created Gravity Drainage Dist. 2 meets with Dist. 1 in Alexandria and ends near Boyce. The millage narrowly passed on Saturday and would raise nearly $1 million annually to fund drainage maintenance in the area.
