Jennifer Cahill, Cleco’s Public Relations Manager, said crews will be busy responding as long as it’s safe.

“We do have over a thousand Cleco line mechanics, over 400 tree trimmers, and damage receptors on standby and ready to respond,” Cahill explained. “So, we're ready if we start seeing some of the weather move through, we have about 900 customers out in Rapides Parish, about 1,400 in Grant.”

Cahill also added that critical community services are always a top priority.

“We patrol the lines and inspect the area by ground and by air and first power is restored to our critical community services like our hospitals, nursing homes, police, and fire departments,” she said. “Next, we restore power to the greatest member of customers in the shortest amount of time, and then we continue to safely restore power to all of our customers.
