Shots fired on Monroe St. in Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA, La. (APD) - At around 4:55 p.m. on Wednesday, Alexandria Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the 2900 block of Monroe Street.

Officers arrived and learned that a male subject had shot at another male on the parking lot of a business at the corner of Monroe and Kent Ave. A vehicle was hit during the shooting.

Both the shooter and the apparent victim had fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival. As of yet, APD has received no information that anyone was hurt in the shooting. Detectives and crime scene investigators processed the scene and conducted their investigation.
