Residents poured into the Alexandria Museum of Arts to hear guest curator, James Linn speak about Louisiana's involvement in World War II. Linn is the curator of the "Pelican State Goes to War," which is a museum in New Orleans and is currently undergoing renovations.
"Louisiana was very involved in a lot of the manufacturing of training because the Louisiana maneuvers happened here," Megan Valentine, the curator, and registrar at Alexandria Museum of Arts said. " A lot of the materials that were used and created in Louisiana were invaluable to the war effort."
