Sanity commission ordered for woman charged in 2018 fatal stabbing
A sanity commission has been appointed for an Alexandria woman charged with manslaughter for the April 2018 fatal stabbing of Danny Smith, 57, in the 2700 Main Street in Alexandria.
On Monday, the attorney for 51-year-old Angela Jones (a.k.a. Angela Lee), Averil Sanders, Jr., filed a motion for a sanity commission to be appointed. Sanders, Jr. introduced sealed medical records.
Judge Greg Beard granted the motion and ordered that Jones be evaluated by doctors. Resulted could take a few months to determine how the case will move forward.
The case is being prosecuted by Christopher Bowman.
