Severe weather discussion for Sunday May 28, 2017

The risk for severe weather returns to central Louisiana as the atmosphere has become quite unstable ahead of a slow-moving cold front and influence from the jet stream aloft.

THREAT LEVEL...Limited. A few storms may become severe but most will stay below severe levels. Watches and warnings are possible.

THREATS...Hail, strong wind, frequent lightning, and heavy rain. A tornado cannot be ruled out but the threat is very low.

TIMING...Sunday during the PM hours.

RAINFALL...Some storms will be efficient rain producers with 2-4 inches possible in 1-2 hours. This may cause ponding of water on streets or promote flash flooding in susceptible locations.

RESPONSE...Please monitor your sources for weather information. Your First Alert Storm Team will be on duty.
