Severe weather recap
A strong disturbance in the southern jet stream tapped a warm, moist atmosphere and produced widespread rain and thunderstorms. A few of these storms brought damaging wind.
In Natchitoches Parish the National Weather Service in Shreveport said several trees and power lines were downed and several structures sustained damage from high wind. This occurred in the Hagewood area along Highway 117.
Also in Natchitoches Parish, several trees and power lines were downed and several structures were damaged about three miles west-northwest of Natchitoches along Highway 504 and 8 Mile Loop.
In Winn Parish, a tree blocked a road in Sikes and another tree fell on Highway 167 south near the Grant Parish line.
The disturbance weakened as it moved slowly eastward during the evening and likely kept the situation from being worse.
