Sheriff: Woman is 3rd arrested in man's death during fight

SLIDELL, La. (AP) - Authorities said they have arrested another person in the death of a man who was killed during a fight near a Louisiana river.

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office told news outlets in a statement that Blaine Manalle, 20, was charged with second-degree murder and jailed on Monday. Sheriff Randy Smith said she is the third person to be arrested in the death of 46-year-old Jeffery Howell.

The sheriff's office said Cameron Alphonso, 21, and Alden Kindergran, 22, were jailed Saturday.

Alphonso's initial manslaughter charge was upgraded to second-degree murder Monday. An autopsy found Howell died from blunt force trauma to the head.

Kindergran was arrested on a disturbing the peace charge and released Sunday after posting a $750 bond.

It is unclear if anyone accused has a lawyer.
