ALEXANDRIA (KALB) – A social security scam appears to be working its way north in Louisiana.
The call says “The Social Security Administration to inform you that your social security number is going to be suspended for committing some fradulent and suspicious activities.”
The caller then instructs residents to phone a specific number to find out more information.
Social Security scam calls hit the Lake Charles area back in September 2018. They have also been reported across the nation.
The Social Security Administration and the Office of Inspector General both say hey want to do everything they can to stop the perpetrators and educate the public.
