GRANT PARISH, La. (KALB) - If you live in Grant Parish, you may have noticed a letter in the mail this week from the South Grant Water Corporation.
According to the letter, in April and May during regular water monitoring, their system failed to provide minimum residual disinfectant levels in the treated water supplied to customers.
That means the chlorine levels in the system were too low. In three different sites, the levels were under 0.5, which is the minimum allowable amount.
As the South Grant Water Corporation told KALB, they didn't feel there was a need to speak on camera because they said the situation wasn't severe. They also added that the letters were sent out because of the state's Department of Health protocol.
You don't have to boil your water or take other corrective actions. However, if you have a specific health concern, you can contact your doctor.
