ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - Tuesday State Superintendent John White announced the Special School District's Interim Superintendent will leave the job in June, according to The Advocate.
Interim Superintendent Dr. Pat Cooper has held the position since summer of 2018.
The interim appointment ends at the conclusion of the legislative session, in accordance with state law. An executive team will be hired to fill the position permanently.
The announcement comes after state police investigated allegations of misconduct at the Louisiana Special Education Center in January.
Four LSEC leaders were also suspended because of that investigation.
Superintendent White said State Police turned the results of the investigation over the Rapides Parish District Attorney's Office, according to The Advocate.
We reached out, but haven't been able to get in touch with the DA's office.
