Sulphur motorcyclist killed in Vernon Parish crash


VERNON PARISH, La. (Louisiana State Police) - On Saturday, a man from Sulphur was killed in a single vehicle crash in Vernon Parish.

Louisiana State Police responded to the crash around 11:10 a.m. on LA Highway 113, south of Pitkin. The crash involved a Harley Davidson, driven by Jerry A. Scalisi, 71. He was headed northbound when he lost control and drove off the right side of the roadway. The motorcycle then overturned and Scalisi was ejected.

He was wearing a helmet, but was pronounced dead.

Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation.
