Thousands of yellow ducks float through town for annual Cenla Duck Derby

Alexandria Saturday Downtown Alexandria was taken over by little, yellow rubber ducks!

It was all for the T.R.E.E. House Children's Museum's third annual Cenla Duck Derby.

Racers could adopt a duck for the big derby race for cash prizes. There were also children's races, as well as all sorts of duck themed games. A few real ducks even made an appearance!

The derby had a ton of community supporters help out including food and craft vendors. The goal was to fuel the museum's mission to create fun educational opportunities.

"We offer a lot of different programs and opportunities for the community," said T.R.E.E. House Children's Museum Executive Director Kara Edwards. "We provide a lot of services for the community and we have a lot of community partners. So, we really want to be an important contributing part of this community for children's education, family well being and connected to the community."

The museum also offered free admission to any guests who wanted to see what it's all about.
