Tioga students go the extra mile for a smile on World Kindness Day
Tioga High School students know an extra smile and unexpected 'thank you' goes a long way. On Wednesday, they pushed the entire school to go the extra mile.
It was National World Kindness Day. Students and staff challenged each other to make someone's day.
They took the time to write and deliver kind notes, give compliments to students they didn't know, thank teachers and pass out sweet treats.
Students hope the new Tioga tradition extends beyond a single day.
"It's just to motivate students to be kinder to themselves and to others," said senior Madison Porter. "Just to motivate students to come to school and want to be happier."
Students even sent kind messages and sweets to elementary schools in the area.
