Toddler, man shot in Shreveport

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) — A toddler is fighting for her life after having been shot in the back of her head in Shreveport, authorities say.

The 1- to a 2-year-old child and her father were wounded in the shooting Friday evening in Shreveport’s College Heights neighborhood.

It happened at 5:31 p.m. Friday at Linwood Homes, an apartment complex in the 7200 block of Bernstein Avenue, Caddo 911 dispatch records show.

That’s where police found a vehicle that had been shot multiple times, Police Chief Ben Raymond said.

The toddler, her father and another male were in the vehicle.

The girl’s father, who was driving the vehicle, was shot in his lower left leg.

Police have 10 units on the scene between West 70th Street and West 74th Street.

Firefighters have six units responding to a medical emergency at the same location.

The nonprofit pays cash rewards for information that leads to the arrest of the individual or individuals responsible for crimes.
