Travis Weston sentenced to 25 years in case of murder of man at Motel 6
Travis Weston, 19 of Alexandria, has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for his role in connection to the beating death of Michael Butler, 55 of Lecompte, at a Motel 6 in Alexandria back in August 2016.
The Rapides Parish District Attorney's Office dismissed the first degree murder charge against Weston last Wednesday, and he pleaded guilty to one felony count of criminal conspiracy.
Weston is one of four teens who were charged with the crime by the Alexandria Police Department. Akeeley Blade is still awaiting his sentencing after being convicted of first degree murder, conspiracy to commit second-degree robbery and second-degree robbery in 2017.
Two others, Camryn Lasyone and Brooke Daniels, also entered pleas in 2017. Lasyone was sentenced to 25 years with 10 suspended for manslaughter. Daniels received 10 years for conspiracy to commit second degree robbery.
