MARKSVILLE, La. (The Ehrhardt Group) - The Tunica-Biloxi Tribe of Louisiana, together with Paragon Casino Resort, has issued $98,000 to the State of Louisiana, which will then be directly distributed to Avoyelles Parish. Additionally, the Tribe and Paragon Casino Resort will be issuing contributions totaling $144,600 to various local non-profits and organizations in an effort to continue to grow and improve the greater Avoyelles community.

For the past twenty years, under its Class III gaming compact, the Paragon Casino Resort has shared 6 percent of its net profits with local jurisdictions, resulting in a total of more than $30 million paid over the course of the relationship. This contribution exceeds the amount allocated in past years due to the success and continued improvements to Paragon. The 2019 total contribution comes to $98,000.

“The distribution of funds to the Parish is a direct reflection of the financial success we’ve had at Paragon Casino Resort,” said General Manager Jody Madigan. “In addition to this annual contribution, we have been fortunate enough this year to have the funds to be able to give back to our community through countless grants and donations to local organizations.”

In addition to the sharing of net profits with the Parish, the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe will be issuing contributions totaling $144,600 to various non-profit organizations on the local and regional level. Aside from monetary contributions, Paragon Casino Resort employees have also volunteered their time and talents to local community organizations this year.

“We give full thanks to the people of Avoyelles Parish for their continued support of both our Tribe and Paragon Casino Resort,” said Marshall Pierite, Chairman of the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe of Louisiana. “We are proud to help grant donations to a number of local organizations in order to help them with their operations and programming.”
