NEW ORLEANS, La. (FBI) - On January 7, wanted fugitive and registered sex offender, Jason Matthew Zeller, was arrested in Altamonte Springs, Florida by the U.S. Marshals Service.
Acting on an anonymous tip provided by Crimestoppers Greater New Orleans indicating Zeller’s whereabouts, U.S. Marshals - Eastern District of Louisiana and U.S. Marshals – Middle District of Florida located and apprehended Zeller around 2:00 pm on Monday.
Jason Matthew Zeller of Metairie, Louisiana, was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Office without incident and charged with the following: two counts of pornography involving juveniles under age 13, two counts of computer-aided solicitation of a minor and one count of unlawful use of a social networking website.
FBI New Orleans Special Agent in Charge Eric J. Rommal praised the great work of the U.S. Marshals Service, the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, the Central Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, FBI New Orleans Child Exploitation Task Force, Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, and Crimestoppers Greater New Orleans for their collaboration and support throughout the investigation and bringing Matthew Zeller to justice.
The allegations contained in this release and related warrant are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
