A deputy with the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office has been arrested for charges related to the rape of a juvenile.

Bryan D. Kibodeaux, 42, of Abbeville, was arrested for various charges as a result of an SVU investigation.

On January 24, 2019, investigators with SVU received a complaint involving the sexual abuse of a child in Vermilion Parish. During the course of their investigation, investigators identified Kibodeaux as the suspect, and a warrant was obtained for his arrest. On February 5, 2019, investigators executed a search warrant at Kibodeaux’s residence.

Kibodeaux was placed under arrest on the warrant. He was booked into the Vermilion Parish Correctional Center for first-degree rape, four counts of indecent behavior with juveniles, and four counts of sexual battery.

Kibodeaux’s employment has been terminated with the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office.
