ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - The Friends of the Alexandria Zoo, or FOTAZ, hosted its quarterly Zoo Brew and Wine Too on Saturday evening.
It's a chance for the community to come out to enjoy some drinks made by local breweries and wineries. There's also some food trucks on hand, as well as some games and live music.
For $30 attendees could vote on which vendor brought their favorite products, as well as get a signature glass. All proceeds help the Alexandria Zoo and FOTAZ as they aim to conserve habitats and stop extinction.
Coordinators said they're grateful for all the people that came out to support the cause.
"It’s just a way for people to come enjoy some food, friends, fellowship, some great music,” said Jim Smilie, FOTAZ President. “Again it supports our mission, it's another way we can help do the work we do to support our animals, and our wildlife conservation efforts."
This is the third Zoo Brew and Wine Too. There's no set date for another one just yet, but coordinators say it would most likely be held in the Fall.
