#6 LSUA’s Emanuel Thompson Shoots Way to RRAC Player of the Week

WACO, Tx. (LSUA Sports Information) - #6 LSUA men’s basketball G/F Emanuel Thompson was nearly perfect in two games against top NAIA competition on his way to winning his first career Red River Athletic Conference Player of the Week award, the conference office announced on Monday.

Thompson, a senior from McComb, Mississippi, hit 13 of the 16 shots he took, including all seven three-point attempts he took, in LSUA’s two games at the Fresh Start Talladega College Classic. Against (RV) Central Baptist, he hit all seven shots, including four three-pointers, as he scored 19 points against the Mustangs while also grabbing five rebounds. The next evening against #8 Talladega, he was six of nine, including three of three from three, for 18 points to go with six more rebounds. The Generals defeated the Mustangs, 94-82, and the Tornadoes, 84-75.

Thompson and the rest of the #6 Generals (5-0) play their third top 15 ranked team in the NAIA Division I Preseason Top 25 poll this Saturday when #13 Science and Arts of Oklahoma comes to town for a match-up. Tip-off against the Drovers (3-1) is set for 4:00 P.M. in The Fort on Saturday, November 16th.
