MARKSVILLE, La. (KALB) - Every now and then, there’s a diamond in the rough who stands out. For this week’s ACA Athlete of the Week, we found just that.
Most of you may see him as just a member of the Marksville football team, but in Daniel Miller’s eyes, all he sees is his mom.
"Seeing how strong she is, it makes me strong. That's the kind of impact and influence she has on me. I love her with everything in my heart, and I really do all this football stuff to make her proud,” Miller said.
Sabrina Miller works night and day trying to provide for them both, so he cherishes the little time he has to spend with her.
"She works 24/7, so there are not many opportunities that I get to see her, but when I do, it's a special moment,” Miller said.
Although his relationship with his mom carries him off the field, his relationship with his star quarterback, john small, carries him on the field.
"Every single day we are out here working after practice. Our chemistry is just through the roof.”
"We both had to work to start over and build our chemistry together. After practice, we get our time in with our routes and we come up with a lot of stuff,” John Small said.
After last week’s performance from Daniel, having over 300 yards, 25 carries, and four touchdowns, Coach Dunbar says the sky is the limit for him.
"You see his great was out on the field and the type of athletic ability he has and he's just one of the most humble kids that I've ever worked before,” Head Coach JT Dunbar said.
So for his leadership, hard work and outstanding performance, he’s this week’s ACA Athlete of the Week.
