Olla (KALB) -- One glance at the LaSalle football team's bonafides from last season and it doesn't look bad. The Tigers finished 2017 with a winning record, losing just two games in district 3-1A play, which happened to be against the top two teams in the district -- Logansport and St. Mary's.
Even so, it was a trying season for head coach Derek White. The Tigers suffered seven significant injuries. The most notable one coming to quarterback Blade Beauboeuf, which led White to use his regular offensive lineman at quarterback.
For 2018, White and a healthy Beauboeuf are hoping to avoid the injury bug and running behind a hefty offensive line could be just the remedy. Led by senior Clay Cotten, LaSalle's offensive line could at times have four guys over 300 pounds lining up in the trenches.
The ability to open up the run game is what White circles as his team's strength this season and why he believes that the Tigers could challenge Logansport and St. Mary's
