ALEXANDRIA (KALB) -- To say that the Pineville Rebels have been itching for the 2018 football season would be an understatement.
Under the first year of head coach Dennis Dunn, Pineville's 2017 campaign started out well enough with a pair of wins. The good times though would not last long as the next eight games saw PHS come out on the losing end.
A tough end to the season didn't demoralize the Rebels returning for this season. If anything, it motivated them and despite having not won a district game since 2014, the Rebels enter the new season having set the lofty goals of not only competing in district 2-5A, but to also host a playoff game.
The journey to accomplishing those goals begins with a trip up to Shreveport to face Southwood on August 31.
