LENA (KALB) -- For new head coach Justin Webb, he knows a turnaround at Northwood won't happen overnight.
Coming off of a successful stint as the offensive coordinator at Tioga, Webb's first shot as a head football coach comes at a program that has won just one total game in the last three seasons and have not had a multi-win season since 2012. In a district with the likes of Logansport and St. Mary's, the rebuild has a tough road ahead.
But Webb is in this for the long haul and that enthusiasm and loyalty has already rubbed off on his players this summer as the Gators had the majority of the team living in the weight room during summer workouts.
A roster mostly made up of juniors and seniors that have been so used to the ways of previous regimes, there was no given that the players would be receptive a new coaching philosophy under Webb. However, team captain Cameron Kerick and the rest of the Gators are sick of losing and believe that Webb is the right guy to turn the corner not just for the upcoming season, but for many years down the road.
