Cats fall to the Hatters 58-13

DELAND, Fla. (KALB) - The Louisiana College Wildcats found themselves crashing and burning in their matchup with the Stetson Hatters, losing 58-13.

The game proved to be a true David and Goliath story gone wrong as LC only scored on 2 of their 16 possessions. Stetson, on the other hand, cashed in on 9 of their 16 possessions.

For the Wildcats’ offense, sophomore wide receiver Micah Dunn led the way with 8 receptions for 100 yards. Not far behind him, junior Zion Williams brought in 7 catches, for 77 yards, and a touchdown.

On defense, linebacker Julius Johnson led the team in tackles with 11 (9 solo). Freshmen defensive back Gerald Burton, sophomore defensive end Micah Latin, and senior defensive back D’Quincy Jones each tallied a forced fumble.

The Cats will travel to Jackson, MS to open conference play against Belhaven on September 14th. Game time is set for 7:00 P.M.
