PINEVILLE, La. (KALB) - You're probably more than familiar with the Pineville Lady Rebels. They've represented the area in a special way, including taking home first place in the USA powerlifting championship just a few months ago.

Xacaria Clark, Jamie Johnson, and Brionna Ford will all compete in the U.S. Powerlifting Sub-Junior World Meet held in Canada on August 26th.

Clark gets a shot at the North American Powerlifting Federation meet in Costa Rica on August 5th.

A proud moment for them all, they feel more than thankful.
"It means a lot,” Clark said. “I didn't think I was going to get asked to go to Costa Rica and Canada.”

"Sometimes you've got to speak things into existence,” Johnson said. “I was just talking about this last year, and I look at the rankings now and I'm third in the world."

Since I've gotten this opportunity to go to Canada, I feel that I’ve made a big accomplishment,” Ford said. “I mean, how many girls do you know have that kind of opportunity?"

Their coach, William Cowan, is extremely proud of them and hopes that they learn from this experience.

"Hopefully, they realize that if you go 100%, it pays off,” Cowan said.

To help support their team, you can donate to their GoFundMe account.
