Florida controls glass as Tigers fall in OT

BATON ROUGE -- The LSU Tigers dropped a close one, 82-77, in overtime to the Florida Gators Wednesday night in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. LSU falls to 21-5 (11-2 SEC), while Florida improves to 15-11 (7-6 SEC).

Freshman forward Naz Reid notched a double-double as he scored 16 and picked up a game-high 15 rebounds. Junior guard Skylar Mays finished with a team-high 18 points. He also picked up three rebounds and two steals in the game. Senior forward Kavell Bigby-Williams compiled 10 points, six rebounds and three blocks on the night. Freshman forward Darius Days finished with nine points and four rebounds. Junior guard Marlon Taylor scored 10 to go along with five rebounds.

Senior guard KeVaughn Allen led the Gators’ scoring effort with a game-high 21 points. Senior guard Jalen Hudson notched 15 points and picked up three rebounds in the effort. Senior Kevarrius Hayes recorded a team-high seven rebounds, in addition to 10 points. Freshman guard Andrew Nembhard scored eight and finished with a game-high eight assists. Freshman guard Noah Locke had 15 points and five rebounds for the Gators.

The Tigers will be back in action Saturday for an 11 a.m. matchup with Tennessee.
