GOTW: Return to 3-3A glory on Marksville's mind

MARKSVILLE (KALB) -- District success has been synonymous with the Marksville football for nearly two decades. Since 2003, the Tigers have been at or near the top of the district 3-3A standings and the Tigers do not plan on that changing any time soon.

The motivation to keep that going has never been stronger as J.T. Dunbar's team heads into district play this Friday at Bolton. The Tigers coming off of a disappointing 2017 season in district after not dropping a game the year before to claim their fourth 3-3A title since 2010.

Dunbar feels his team is primed to make a run now after getting through a tough pre-district schedule with a 3-2 record, including a win against Abbeville last week that, due to injuries, saw the Tigers playing their fifth string running back. Dunbar expects his team to be a bit healthier this Friday though as they travel to face the Bears. Kick-off is set for 7:00 p.m. and is the 5th Quarter Game of the Week.
