ALEXANDRIA, La (KALB) - The LSUA men’s soccer team got an equalizing goal from Brian Okpala with 16 minutes left, one of Okpala’s two goals on the day, as the Generals came out of the battle against the Huston-Tillotson Rams with a 2-2 double overtime draw Thursday afternoon at Generals Field.

How It Happened:
The Generals got things started early, getting match’s first goal inside the first ten minutes. Alan Albornoz threw in a ball long from the left sideline, and found the head of Samuel Ogunjobi, who headed the ball across the frame of the goal to the right post what Brian Okpala waited to head it inside the post for a 1-0 lead in the ninth minute. Huston-Tillotson equalized in the 28th minute on a goal from distance that snuck into the right side netting. The Rams took the lead early in the second half as a free kick snuck inside the top right 90 to give HTU a 2-1 lead in the 53rd minute. Okpala came to his team’s aid by using his head again. After a foul that saw a yellow card shown to a Rams player, Rafael Bastos drilled the ensuing free kick into the box. Keelin Foley got his head to it first, driving it ahead to Okpala, who headed the ball past the goalkeeper and into the net for the tying goal. Both teams had chances to get either a late winner or a golden goal, but none found the back of the net and the match ended in a draw.
