Girl on Fire: Meet Aly Jo Warren
Let me introduce you to Aly Jo Warren-she's gone to state in three out of four of the varsity sports she plays. All, while maintaining a 4.0 GPA.
"She's just never not working out, and never not studying," head coach Katelyn Russo said.
With her mom having experience as a coach, she's been in the gym since she was in diapers. This has given her a head start, that others would dream of.
"My mom has been a basketball coach since I was born," Aly Jo Warren said. " always been in the gym since then. Like I've never been from it," she added.
With this head start, she doesn't take it for granted.
"She strives for excellence," Katelyn Russo said. "She doesn't want to be sub-par in anything that she does. She literally works out seven days a week in every sport," she added.
Warren is starting to see those seven-day workouts pay off now that she has offers from two of the top athletic programs in the country- LSU and the University of Texas.
Aly Jo finished with a double-double in two of the last three games, averaging 20 points per game and still manages to be a great role model for the rest of the team.
"When I go out, I just want to give it my all and work my hardest," Warren said. "That's all I really think about," she added.
"She's an incredible player," teammate, Marilyn Seeling said. "She works hard and she's just always positive about everything," Seeling added.
For her positive attitude and producing positive results, she's this week's ACA Athlete of the Week.
