ALEXANDRIA, La (KALB Sports)-- Alexandria native and current Oakland Raiders running back Jalen Richard returned to his alma mater of Peabody Magnet High School Saturday, to give back to a few hundred local kids around the area by hosting his first youth football skills camp.
"Man it means a lot we just appreciate him coming back down here showing love for the city and just appreciate everything he do for us," said camper Jalen Walker.
Richard brought in re-enforcement too, with Raiders teammates DeAndre Washington, Johnny Holton, and Gabe Jackson just to name a few other NFL players that devoted their time here in Alexandria to give back.
"They helped me a lot just to show me as the experience but not just the experience it helped me feel like what it's actually like to understand what the NFL players go through and what their drills are like," said Kevin Hammond.
This was Richard's first camp hosted in his hometown, but he expects it grow bigger and bigger over the years.
