Less than a month after his death, basketball legend Kobe Bryant is being honored for his athletic ability.

On Friday, Bryant was named as a finalist for the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2020. Seven other finalists are also on the list.

Bryant spent 20 years on the court with the Los Angeles Lakers. He helped the team win five NBA championships and is currently fourth on the all-time scorers' list.

The official class of 2020 will be elected to the hall of fame on April 4.

The induction ceremony will be August 29 in Massachusetts.
