ALEXANDRIA, La (KALB) - The Louisiana College Wildcats pulled out a win over McMurry, 49-36, but the ultimate test will be against East Texas Baptist, this Saturday.
After a three-game losing streak, the Wildcats pulled it together on both sides of the ball.
"It's definitely good to get a win this late in the season," Head Coach Justin Charles said. "I'm proud of the way my guys performed this past Saturday."
Freshman quarterback, Sal Palermo stepped up, throwing for 374 yards and three touchdowns on 21-of-33 passing. He connected with sophomore, Micah Dunn, to break the ASC record for the longest pass with a 99-yard TD. Palermo also rushed 10 times for 58 yards
"Sal is a tough kid," Coach Charles said. "The game was slower, so he was able to make his read progressions a little more, and make his run pass combinations."
