LSU comes up just short against No. 10 Kentucky

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - The LSU men’s basketball team rallied after being down by 15 to No. 10 Kentucky but the comeback fell just short Tuesday, Feb. 18 inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

The Tigers (18-8, 9-4 SEC) went down 79-76 to the Wildcats (21-5, 11-2 SEC). LSU has lost four out of five and drop to third place in the SEC.

Skylar Mays led the way for LSU with 17 points. Darius Days recorded a double-double, scoring 13 points and pulling down 11 rebounds. Trendon Watford added 10 points.

Kentucky was led by Immanuel Quickley. He scored a game-high 21 points. He also had five assists. Tyrese Maxey added 14 points. Nick Richards chipped in 13 points. He also had six rebounds and six blocks.

As a team, Kentucky had a total of 11 blocks.
