KANSAS CITY, MO -- For the first time in the program’s five year history, the LSUA women’s basketball team has worked itself inside in the NAIA Division I Women’s Basketball Top 25 Coaches’ Poll, coming in at #25 in the poll which was released on Wednesday.

LSUA is currently riding its longest win streak in program history, having won their last seven contests of the 2018 calendar year. That was good enough to warrant a program record 46 points in the NAIA Top 25 poll and cross inside the ranked 25 for the first time ever. Since the previous poll came out on December 4th, the Generals have won four straight, leading LSUA to its first ever 4-0 start in Red River Athletic Conference play. LSUA received 15 votes in that poll on December 4th, the first time ever the Generals received votes in a NAIA Top 25 poll.

One other RRAC team appeared in the new NAIA Top 25 Coaches’ Poll, and it happens to be LSUA’s next opponent, Our Lady of the Lake, who came in at #14. LSUA’s next home opponent, Huston-Tillotson, was among others receiving votes.

The Generals face their first ever Top 25 battle on Thursday as #25 LSUA heads to San Antonio to take on #14 Our Lady of the Lake. Tip-off between against the Saints is set for 5:30 P.M. at Mabee Gymnasium.
