LSUA's Ellis and Thaxton Earns RRAC Weekly Honor's
Brandon Ellis of LSU Alexandria (La.) emerged as the RRAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for his performance over the dates of Jan. 13-19. This is the conference's 12th weekly award for the 2019-20 men's basketball season.
Ellis posted a game-high 21 points in the Generals' 93-90 victory over fifth-ranked LSU Shreveport (La.) on Thursday. The junior guard scored 15 in the first half and delivered a crucial three-pointer and free throw as LSUA rallied from a 15-point deficit in the final seven minutes of the game. Ellis dished out nine assists and was 6-of-9 from three-point range as the Generals stayed unbeaten in conference play. The native of Lafayette, La., is fourth in the RRAC with 4.5 assists per game. Ranked 11th in the NAIA, LSUA is now 7-0 in the RRAC and 15-4 overall.

Kelsey Thaxton of LSU Alexandria (La.) was selected as the RRAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the dates of Jan. 13-19. This is the conference's 11th weekly award for the 2019-20 women's basketball season.
Thaxton poured in 25 points including five three-pointers to spark a 104-82 win over 23rd-ranked LSU Shreveport (La.). The sophomore guard was 9-of-13 from field goal range including 5-of-7 on three-point attempts. Thaxton scored eight points in a pivotal two-minute stretch as the Generals closed the first half on a 14-3 run. The native of Many, La., also had four rebounds while posting her fifth 25-point game of the season. Thaxton is the conference leader with 20.3 points per game this season. LSUA is 6-1 in the RRAC and 12-4 overall.
