PINEVILLE, La. (KALB) - The 2019 Lady Wildcats softball season was not one to exactly remember as they finished the season on a five-game losing streak and an overall record of 21-20.
Here in 2020, they want to get better and get back to winning.
Sophomore pitcher Jade Brady was second on the team in most batting categories. She had two home runs and a .395 batting average and plans to improve in her sophomore year.
“I just want to be a good teammate to my team and just be like a good asset to my team,” Brady said. “I want to do that physically, mentally, and emotionally. I actually tore my rotator cuff and labrum and I had surgery at the end of May, so I've been working really hard to come back.”
Senior pitcher Cameron Crochet had 34 strikeouts in 2019 along with 12 starts, and she's looking to go out with a bang in her final season.
“I just hope that people can look at me and be like, I want to be that type of player,” Crochet said. “It’s my senior year, and I just plan on going full out, all the time, and giving everything I have to my team and coaches.”
The Lady Wildcats won't get a chance to play at home until February 24, but they start their season on the 8th against Millsaps College at 2 p.m.
