Leaving a legacy

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - Last night in a ceremony held before family and friends, officials from Rapides Parish commemorated the ASH swimming pool in the name of the man synonymous with ASH swimming: Wally Fall. Running the local Alexandria Aquatic Club and serving as the principal of Brame Middle School, Fall has been integral to bringing swimming to the forefront of Cenla youth sports. The only member of the LHSAA Hall of Fame associated with swimming, Fall knows the honor goes beyond coaching.

“For me, it’s about leaving a legacy behind for my children and grandchildren…I want them to know their grandfather left a mark in this community.”

Fall turned 75 today, but doesn't plan on slowing down anytime soon.

"I'm still here coaching, I don't know for how much longer. But I plan on doing it as long as I can."
