ALEXANDRIA, La (KALB) - After the first round of playoffs, Leesville's D'ante Gallashaw, Caleb Gallashaw, and Tioga's Zeke Dupas are named ACA Athlete of the Week finalists.
In Tioga's win over North DeSoto, Zeke Dupas stepped up when offense slacked off. He had a pick-six and would've finished with two if the second wasn't called back.
"Our offense was struggling and so we have to step up somewhere," cornerback, Zeke Dupas said. "Defense had to step up. I knew I had to work harder in my spot because I told them that I'd have their back no matter what, and I would do whatever I had to do to get us to the next round."
For Leesville, Caleb and D'ante Gallashaw led the Wampus Cats to their first-round victory against Pearl River, bringing them to play the number one seed in the bracket.
"It makes us feel good," running back D'ante Gallashaw said. "We always have good chemistry on the field, and I'm just glad that people actually notice that," Gallashaw added.
"I don't have much to say, but we just come out here work hard. We look at the film and just study what the defense does," Caleb Galleshaw said.
Both teams are set to play this weekend. Leesville will host Lakeshore on Friday, and Tioga will travel to Warren Easton on Saturday.
