Lentz signs with the Lady Wildcats
Every championship basketball team needs a great shooter. The Golden State Warriors have Steph Curry, and the Chicago Bulls had Steve Kerr in the ’90s.
The Louisiana College Lady Wildcats have added a shooter to their squad in Shelby Lentz, who signed with the team on Tuesday.
The Pitkin High native will join a team that is only losing a handful of seniors in Kourtney McGhee, Janae Smith, and RyDeja McQuarn. She and her family are excited for her to stay close to home and have the chance to play early.
“I liked the coach because he really wanted me there,” Lentz said. “He told me that I had a chance to get playing time as a freshman. He just made me feel comfortable."
"As a parent, I was blessed to coach her and be with her to see all the behind-the-scenes things that most parents don't get to see," Lentz’s father, Jesse, said.
