ALEXANDRIA, LA (KALB Sports) -- Former ASH running back Michael Orphey has been living his dream since signing a letter of intent to continue his college football career at Louisiana-Lafayette but it hasn't come easy as a preferred walking.
"The leap from high school to college is just so big it's like black and white and just to have that opportunity to have to be able to be on a college roster is just amazing,"
The path for Micheal Orphey to college football has been anything besides ideal, as a junior he tore his ACL and prior to the start of his senior season he tore his meniscus, but returned to the active roster for the second game of the season. His senior year was anything but average as he broke ASH's single game rushing record versus Pineville.
"Nobody really saw what I had to go through nobody saw the summer workouts nobody saw the therapy and the way I had to push myself coming from two surgeries," said Orphey.
